ADAMS CANYON COTTAGE LLC is a small retreat on the quiet rim of the canyon in Layton, Utah. Everything we offer is built around one idea: a restful room, a ready kitchen, an open yard and a trail at the back gate. Cozy Cottage Stays

Our five guest rooms are the heart of the cottage. Each room has a comfortable bed with fresh linen, a reading lamp, a small writing desk, warm blankets for cool canyon nights and a window that looks out toward the hills. The rooms are quiet by design, with solid doors and soft evening light, so sleep comes easily after a day outside.

Every stay begins the same way. When you arrive, you receive the brass key to the front door, a short tour of the house and a map of the trails. The rooms are cleaned before each arrival with care, and the beds are made fresh for every guest. We keep the whole cottage small on purpose, so you never share a wall with more than a handful of other travellers.

Kitchen and Dining Amenities

The cottage kitchen is fully equipped and open to all guests. You will find a stove, an oven, a refrigerator, a kettle, a coffee maker, pots, pans, cutlery and a full set of dishes. There is a large farmhouse table for shared meals, and the pantry holds the basics: coffee, tea, sugar, salt, oil and spices.

Many guests tell us that cooking together is one of the best parts of their stay. The market in Layton is a short drive away, and the kitchen has everything you need to turn your groceries into a proper dinner. In the morning, make coffee, sit by the window and watch the fog lift off the canyon before you head out on the trail.

Outdoor Living and Firepit

The stone firepit is the centerpiece of the yard. Surrounded by wooden benches and a low stone wall, it is the place where evenings come alive. We keep a supply of firewood stacked by the shed, plus kindling and matches, so lighting the fire is easy even for first time guests.

When the fire is going, the yard turns golden and quiet. Guests roast marshmallows, dry damp boots on the rack, swap trail stories and watch the stars appear over the ridge. There is nothing to book and no extra fee. The firepit is simply part of the stay, ready whenever you want it, and it is often the memory guests mention first when they write in our book.

Hiking and Canyon Access

The back gate of the cottage opens directly onto maintained canyon trails. Within a few minutes of walking you can reach the stream, the ledges and the wide valley overlook, and there are eight nearby routes of different lengths and difficulty. We keep trail maps at the front door and a chalkboard in the hall with the current trail conditions.

For those who want company on the trail, we can point you to the best morning routes, the quiet afternoon loops and the sunset viewpoints. Bird watchers will find plenty to record, and photographers will find golden light in every direction. The canyon is the reason many guests choose us, and we love sending people out into it.

Family and Group Gatherings

The cottage is well suited for families and small groups. The large dining table seats everyone for shared meals, the yard has open space for games and the firepit provides a natural gathering point in the evening. We also keep a small shelf of board games, cards and books for rainy afternoons.

Groups of up to five rooms can book the cottage together, which makes it ideal for reunions, birthday weekends and small retreats. We work with you ahead of time to sort out bedding, timing and any special requests. Our goal is simple: everyone in your party should feel welcome, well fed and well rested by the end of the stay.

Extended Stay Options

Many of our guests come for more than a weekend. Travellers, remote workers and people between homes have stayed with us for weeks or months at a time. For longer visits we offer weekly and monthly rates, access to the laundry room and the quiet of a house that is never crowded.

The kitchen makes self-catering easy, the desk in each room provides a workspace and the garden is a calm place to read or take calls. Extended guests become part of the cottage rhythm, sharing the firepit with new arrivals and telling them which trails are best.
